The Defence ministry has announced the replacement for Major General Chris Olukolade as Colonel Rabe Abubakar. Major General Chris Olukolade who is handing over to the colonel after 35 years of active service in the Nigerian military.
Shortly after being handover to as the Defence Spokesman, Colonel Abubakar said he was abreast and in great light of the security challenges in the country and the need for joint efforts to confront it.

“There is absolute need for synergy of efforts and collaboration among all stakeholders to re-strategise in the area of information collection, management and determination in counter terrorism and insurgency” he outlined
Director of Information Colonel Abubakar said that he would make himself reacheable, available, responsive and proactive in engaging with media and other partners in the bid of promoting the military/media relationship.
colonel Rabe promised to maintain excellent and healthy press relations with all arms of media to support the Nigeria Armed Forces operations and activities.
