Ebola Virus Shows Up In Doctors Eye 3 Months After Discharge

For one Ebola doctor-turned-patient, being discharged with virus-free blood wasn't the end of his brush with the potentially deadly pathogen.
Three months later, the virus was still lingering in his left eyeball, according to a case study published this week in the New England Journal of Medicine. The infection baffled doctors when it turned his blue eye green until the infection resolved itself, according to The New York Times. Emory Eye Center said it was not able to provide the photos to ABC News.

The patient was a previously healthy 43-year-old man who was working at an Ebola treatment ward in Sierra Leone when he was diagnosed with Ebola in early September, according to the study. He was flown to Emory University Hospital in Atlanta for treatment, where he spent 12 days on a ventilator and 24 days on dialysis.

See Microsoft’s New Web Browser

Microsoft announced the name of its Windows 10 browser last week. While the code name, Project Spartan, was exciting and invoked visions of dominance and strength, the final name Microsoft picked is totally dull and mundane. Microsoft Edge is the successor to Internet Explorer, but the software giant had a huge opportunity to bury the bad image of IE, and it has blown it.

Microsoft Edge sounds like some type of datacenter or corporate IT package from a decade ago. It’s not cool, exciting, or even remotely interesting. It’s boring and sounds like the dreadful EDGE pre-3G internet connection that nobody wants on their phones these days. My friends joke that their iPhones are on the "edge of death" when they see the little E icon, and Microsoft Edge just reminds me of a bad internet connection or a WWE wrestler. Neither of those is cool.
Since Microsoft has picked Edge, you would expect a cool new logo and splashy brand, but that hasn’t happened. Microsoft’s Edge logo simply clings to the past by acting as a safe bet and mimicking the Internet Explorer logo. They’re both a lowercase "e," and all that’s really removed from the Edge logo is the halo from the IE logo. It's designed this way for those who are familiar with the IE logo as it exists today, the generation that are still using the browser. Microsoft should be more concerned with the masses that have moved to download Chrome or Firefox, which both have completely different names and logos.

Nigeria Government Borrows Money To Pay Salaries

image:finance.coom
The finance minister has confirmed that Africa’s biggest economy is borrowing money to pay government salaries.
The news comes as Nigeria prepares to welcome a new government at the end of this month and the country's naira currency remains in a slump, hovering between 180 and 220 to the US dollar. It was trading at 160 a few months ago.
Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala tried to be upbeat in a speech on Tuesday after lawmakers approved the 2015 budget - revised three times because of slashed oil prices that provide 80 percent of revenue for the government of Africa's biggest petroleum producer.
She said "revenue challenges" had prohibited the release of any funds for capital expenditure this year but that food prices and single-digit inflation remained quite stable. And she said the economy still was on course to grow 4.8 percent this year.

Tesla Battery To End Fossil Fuels

While wind and solar power have made great strides in recent years, with renewables now accounting for 22% of electric energy generated, the issue that has held them back has been their transience. The sun doesn’t shine at night and the wind doesn’t blow year-round – these are the mantras of all those opposed to the progress of renewables.

Now the renewable power billionaire Elon Musk has just blown away that final defence. Last Thursday in California he introduced to the world his sleek new Powerwall – a wall-mounted energy storage unit that can hold 10 kilowatt hours of electric energy, and deliver it at an average of 2 kilowatts, all for US$3,500.

Africa's Richest Man Aliko Dangote Wants To Buy Arsenal FC

Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote tried and failed to acquire a stake in 2010 but claims he has a "strategy" for investing in the Gunners
Africa's richest man, Aliko Dangote, has said he still wants to buy Arsenal despite failing in a 2010 bid to acquire a stake in the club.
The Nigerian billionaire is now worth nearly eight times as much as when he tried to buy into the Gunners, and the passionate Gooners has not given up on his dream of getting involved with the north London club.
“I still hope, one day at the right price, that I’ll buy the team,” Dangote, 58, told Bloomberg.
“I might buy it, not at a ridiculous price but a price that the owners won’t want to resist," he continued, before ominously adding, "I know my strategy.
Interestingly, Dangote has publically stated that Arsene Wenger “needs to change his style a bit,” claiming the team “needs new direction.”

Dangote - valued at over US$15billion - is worth more than both Arsenal majority shareholder Stan Kroenke and Uzbek Billionaire Alisher Usmanov, who have been fighting for control at the Emirates in recent years.
