Meet Leanne, a 40-year-old Australian website designer who loves dressing up like a horse. She goes by the name ‘Shyanne’ in her pony get-up, which includes a saddle, bridle and bit. 

Once the transformation is complete, she likes to trot about and pull her friend Grace behind her in a custom-made trap.
Each of her ensembles costs anywhere between £5,000 and £10,000 (that’s $8,000 to $16,000). “Once the bit’s in, the tongue is out so you’re not speaking,” she explained. “If you drool while wearing a bit, you’ve got to be wearing the wrong-size bit.” 

7 Dead, 11 Injured In Maiduguri Bomb Blast

Four people were killed when three suicide bombers blew themselves up in a suburb of the northeastern Nigerian city of Maiduguri, the army said on Wednesday. 

“The explosions occurred at three-minute intervals and seven people were confirmed dead, including the three suicide terrorists,” said army spokesman Colonel Sani Usman.
 Eleven others sustained “various degrees of injuries”, he added.
The jihadist group Boko Haram has been blamed for a spate of attacks in Maiduguri and the wider northeast, aiming at “soft” civilian targets such as mosques, markets and bus stations.

Drunk Driving Suspect Allegedly Claimed His Dog Was Driving The Car

A DUI suspect accused of leading deputies on a high speed chase in Manatee County, Florida, allegedly told authorities that his dog was the one behind the wheel, Bradenton Patch reports.

Deputies gave chase to Reliford Cooper III, 26, after catching him speeding at around 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Cooper allegedly fled, ran a stop sign, drove through two ditches and eventually crashed into a house.
Cooper took off on foot and sought refuge in a nearby church, but churchgoers chased him off the premises, according to a police report obtained by The Smoking Gun. 
While he was being handcuffed, Cooper told deputies, “I wasn’t driving that car," the report said. He then allegedly elaborated, “My dog was driving that car.”

Federal Government Unveils New NYSC Certificates

Federal Government, Tuesday, unveiled newly improved National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificates to be issued to corps members at the conclusion of the mandatory one year service to their fatherland.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony in Abuja, the Director General of the NYSC, Brig-Gen. Johnson Olawumi said the scheme took the step to wage war against forgery and impersonation.

The DG, represented by the Acting Director of Certification, Alhaji Aliu Daura, explained that the new certificate would be embossed with the carrier’s photograph in line with the global best practices. According to Olawumi, the issuance of the new NYSC certificate would take effect from Batch ‘C’ 2014, who will be passing out on 15 October.

Boko Haram’s Teenage Bombers Kill 45 In Chad, Cameroon


Two girls between the ages of 13 and 17 carried out suicide bombings in the northern Cameroon village of Kangeleri near Mora town on Sunday, killing at least 9 and wounding 29 others, said Cameroon’s Minister of Communications Issa Tchiroma Bakary.
 The Cameroon explosions come after five co-ordinated suicide bombings in Chad on Saturday killed at least 36 people and wounded some 50 others in a village near Lake Chad that is home to thousands of Nigerians who have fled the extremists’ violence. The government said a man, two women and two children carried out the attacks.

President Barack Obama is fairly certain of one thing when it comes to next year's election: Donald Trump won't succeed him in the White House.

The billionaire businessman,and front runner in the race to become the Republican Party’s White House nominee, has raised hackles with his controversial comments on immigration, gun control and women, among other issues.
"He knows how to get attention. He is, you know, the classic reality TV character, and at this early stage, it's not surprising that he's gotten a lot of attention," Obama said of Trump in an interview on CBS television's "60 Minutes" news program.
"I don't think he'll end up being president of the United States," Obama said in the interview, which aired on Sunday.

NAHCON Says Nigerians’ Death Toll Rises To 145 From Hajj Stampede

THE death toll of Nigerians, who died in the September 24 Muna stampede near Makkah, was yesterday put at 145. 
Last Thursday when the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), gave an update on the inci­dent, it put the figure at 99, while it said 214 Nigerians were still missing at the time.

But by Sunday evening it said of 345 Nigerians, who were affected in the stampede, 145 had been certified, dead, 35 injured, while 165, were yet to be accounted for.

Nigerian Businessman Buys A Portuguese Football Club

President of Nigeria National League (NNL) team, Remo Stars Football Club, Kunle Soname, at the weekend became the first Nigerian to own a top European football club by buying Portuguese second division side, Clube Desportivo Feirense.
Soname secured 70 percent of the club, which last played in the Portuguese top-flight division in 2011.
 According to a statement on the club’s website, “Last Friday we effected a transformation of our club through the sale of part of the capital to our new partners, Tavisstock Global Resource Ltd, led by Mr. Kunle Soname.

Airforce Plane Crashes in Adamawa

A fighter jet F7-Ni belonging to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF801) has crashed in Hong local government area of Adamawa state.
The jet was said to be on its way back to base from a mission when it crashed due to a terrible weather condition in the area, leaving two officers including the pilot dead.

Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall SB Abubakar has therefore ordered a full scale investigation into the cause of the crash.
