Reports by SaharaReporters says four suspected Boko Haram terrorists were arrested by men of the Civilian JTF in Borno State.
The suspects were arrested in Malari village at Konduga Local
Government, Borno state.
The four of them were presented to the Borno state governor, Kashim
Shettima, while on his visit to Malari village to sympathize with the villagers
after the insurgents attacked the village on Monday and killing nine persons
and leaving several hundreds displaced in the process.
Information has it that, Shettima was surprised when they were
brought to him with hands tied.
The Civilian JTF leader, Nuhu Kumshise said was quoted to have
said: “We arrested them today after his
father handed over them to us, then they led us into the bush where the two remaining
guys hid themselves.”
He further added that one of the suspects confirmed belonging
to the deadly sect and also went ahead to mention the name of his leader.
Bakura Yusuf of the Civilian JTF, also said: “Long time before now we have been told that
one of the arrestees that he is the leader who used to lead attacks on us.”
The governor Shettima gave out a heartfelt request to hundreds
of displaced persons who camped in Malari Primary School to keep calm as buses would be arranged to transport them to
Konduga, while affirming that foodstuffs as well as other materials will be
immediately provided by the state government.
