Nigerian Troops Kill 150 Boko Haram Terrorist In Adamawa

Nigerian troops with the assistance of hunters and native vigilantes killed over one hundred fifty Boko Haram terrorists in Adamawa state on Tues, October 20.

US Fighter Jet Crashed Shortly After Taking Off From An RAF Base In Suffolk

A US fighter jet has crashed shortly after taking off from an RAF base in Suffolk.
The McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet was flying out of RAF Lakenheath when it came down into green fields in Red Mere, near Shippea Hill, five miles north-west of Lakenheath.
There is yet no indication as to the condition of the pilot.
However, it has been suggested that he ejected from the plane as it descended towards the ground.
Emergency services including police, fire and ambulance crews are all at the scene in, near Ely, after a member of the public raised the alarm at 10.30am this morning.
Reports claim that the jet was one of six returning to the US via the UK after combat deployment in the Middle East.

It is said to have encountered issues with refueling, reportedly failing to successfully refuel with a tanker before crashing.

Army Warns Boko Haram, urges Them Embrace Peace Now

THE military yesterday served members of the dreaded Boko Haram sect a notice to surrender, failing which they will be risking grave consequences.

Besides, the Army also urged the international community to tell the insurgents to embrace peace and desist from terrorist acts.
The Army spoke through a statement titled: “Final warning to Boko Haram terrorists.” It was signed by its spokesman, Col .Sani Usman.
He said troops operating under the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) have uncovered all the sect’s hideouts, adding that they must either surrender or face serious consequences.

It reads: “This is to finally warn all Boko Haram terrorists wherever they are, to desist from all acts of terrorism, surrender themselves and face the law now.

We Didn’t Kill Lekki Free Trade Zone Boss, Police Did - Community Members

Leaders of Okunraye community, one of the villages hosting the Lekki Free Trade Zone, in the Ibeju Lekki area of Lagos State told a Lagos State High Court in Igbosere on Tuesday that the police were responsible for the killing of the Managing Director of the free trade zone, Alhaji Tajudeen Disu.

This claim was in an affidavit in support of a Fundamental rights suit filed before a Lagos High Court against the Police, Directorate of State Security (DSS) and Dangote group.
The leaders, who condemned the detention of members of their community, alleged that contrary to reports on the incident, Disu was hit from behind by a stray bullet by the Lagos Mobile Policemen which killed him instantly.
The community also sued the Inspector General of Police, Lagos Police Commissioner, Special Anti-robbery Squad (SARS), the Nigerian Army and Ibeju Lekki Local Government.

One Alhaji Surajudeen Salami, who deposed to the affidavit, recalled that the Lagos State Government, sometime in 2007, forcefully acquired their land from them.

Nigeria Wooing Asian Refiners, Especially In India And China For Crude Oil Sale

Despite the free fall  in global oil prices, Federal Government has insisted that it would not indulge in the current market share war like the Arabs are doing by offering huge discounts, or grant longer term credit to consumers to boost revenue drive.
Rather, government said, it would become more aggressive with its crude marketing by wooing Asian refiners, especially in India and China, to take up more volumes of Nigeria’s crude through long term contracts.
The development comes even as Iran, Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC’s fourth largest producer prepares to re-launch its crude into the global market after decades of economic sanctions by the US and other world economies, while pleading with other producers to cut back production.

30 Boko Haram Members Killed In Adamawa State

30 members of the Boko Haram sect were killed in a gun battle with Nigerian troops assisted by the local vigilantes in the early hours of yesterday at the border villages between Adamawa and Borno states.

This happened after Boko Haram members on Sunday invaded Gwoza local government area of Borno State, killing nine people and destroying houses.
