Maj- Gen. Chris Olukolade Retires


Maj- Gen. Chris Olukolade, Chairman of Forum of Spokespersons of Security and Response Agencies (FOSSRA), on Thursday handed over leadership of forum to the Director of Naval information, commodore Kabiru Aliyu. Olukolade, who is retiring as Director of Defense information, handed over the leadership at the monthly meeting of the forum command in Nigerian capital.

 At the meeting Olukolade formally declared that he is retiring from the service. in line with what he said was that he should have resigned his duty since 2014 November  when he applied to retire voluntarily but his request wasn’t granted by the Army Council and his stay was extended on the grounds that it wasn’t proper for him to leave at the said time.

Olukolade appreciated members and their agencies for the support and understanding they gave him whereas he chaired the forum since its formation in 2013. He additionally requested same level of support for his successor. He aforementioned the aim of the forum was to deepen the collaboration and understanding among the safety and response agencies in Info. Management and communication.


In acceptance remark, the new Chairman of the forum, commodore naval officer Kabiru Aliyu extolled the sterling leadership qualities of Olukolade that was the most pillar behind the successes recorded by the forum. He assured the previous Chairman of his determination to hold on from wherever he stopped and to even attempt to maneuver the forum to a different level. Additionally speaking, the chief Secretary of Centre for Crisis Communication retired Air commodore naval officer Yusuf Anas additionally applauded Olukolade for his positive contributions to national development. The membership of FOSSRA is formed from spokespersons of Military, Security, Intelligence and Response agencies.
