The
Nigerian passport is graded 57th within the world out of 199 indexed passports.
This was done by the interactive tool recently undraped by Arton Capital called
Passport Index .Arton Capital is a financial advisory company that specializes
in procuring multiple citizenship for its clients.
Commenting
on the Index, Oluwakemi Ojo - Head of
Communications for Travelstart Nigeria - aforesaid, “Arton Capital’s assessment
bodes well for Nigerians who like to
travel. Currently, Nigerian passport holders get pleasure from visa-free access
to sixty one countries within the world which includes Dominica, Madagascar,
Mauritius, and Kenya. Visa-free travel is very vital as a result of it
facilitates doing business in foreign territories, and for leisure travelers it reduces the prices and body hassles of international travel.”
In
West Africa, Guinea encompasses a leg abreast of the remainder of the
sub-region. The second most helpful passport within the region belongs to Togo
whose bearers can access up to sixty seven countries not having to use for a
visa. People from Sao Tome and Principles are less lucky with visa-free access to
only twenty eight countries.
The
Passport Index filters passports by country, by region, by color (of the
passport cover), and by passport power rank - the ranking system allocates one
purpose for every country the passport holder will enter while not applying for
a visa before departure.
The
UK and US share the very best passport power rank within the index with access
to 147 countries, whereas Palestinian Territories, Asian nation among others
have rock bottom with visa free access to only twenty eight countries. Nigeria
holds an equivalent rank on the passport ranking like Republic of Tunisia, Philippines,
Zambia, Bahrain , Namibia, Azerbaijan, Tanzanian and Mali etc
