Bomb Explosion Rocks Maiduguri Market (Pictures)

A bomb explosion rocked Gamboru market by Customs bridge in Maiduguri, Borno state capital early this morning.

Naij.com reported that according to an eye witness, the explosion went off at about 6.30 am July 31st in a tricycle at the parking area of tricycle operators in the market.

It was reported that the explosion may have killed dozens, with many others left injured.
According to an eye witness, Maryam Abu, a civil servant who lives close to the area of the incident, “We heard the blast at about 6:30am this morning and shortly afterwards, we saw people running from the direction of the market screaming that it was a bomb.’
Responsibility for the bombing has not been claimed. But indications by security operatives are pointing at the Islamic terrorist group, Boko Haram.
