Top Iranian official says: 4,700 died in Hajj Stampede; 3,000 bodies still inside 21 trucks

According to ABNA,The Head of Iran’s hadj organisation, Ohadi, has expressed his belief that the amount of victims within the Mina stampede incident in Saudi Arabia that happened on the first day of Eid Al-Adha reached a minimum of 4,700.

According to the interview on Iranian TV yesterday, Ohadi stated that 228 Iranian pilgrims died in mina, adding that "the number of missing Iranians, with no info concerning their whereabouts, has reached 248, and we are afraid that the death toll could rise even more”

Ohadi aforementioned that a minimum of 3.000 bodies are still within twenty one trucks, and that they are waiting to be diagnosed and removed.

The Saudi Health Minister Khalid Bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih had proclaimed on Saturday that the amount of deaths that resulted from the Mina stampede had risen to 769 pilgrims, whereas the amount of injured people rose to 934.
