South African Actress Arrested For Drug Smuggling Appears In Court

A South African actress whose identity has now been revealed when she appeared in court as Mmatjatji Malatji was arrested at Tambo International Airport on Sunday,27th of September , as she arrived from Abu Dhabi with 15.4 kilograms of ephedrine in her bag.

SARS said the narcotics have an estimated street value of R4.6 million, describing it as “a significant seizure”.

Malatji, 29, appeared before the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, September 29 but her hearing has been adjorned to October 7.

She will remain in custody of the authorities till the next hearing.
