FG Responds To UniLag Protests, Sends Technical Team

The Federal Government has responded to cries from various quarters regarding the death of a 300L student of Unilag, Oluchi Anekwe, that was electrocuted earlier this week.




The technical team which is led by Mr. Peter Ewesor of the Nigeria Electricity Management Services Limited (NEMSL), has arrived Lagos and is now on ground to commence investigation.

A Deputy Director stated during the press conference that "At the end f the exercise, the team is expected to find out what exactly went wrong and which group or individuals are culpable after which appropriate sanctions will be forwarded to the regulator -  Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC)."

He also added that "Furthermore, the report will also contain future mitigating measures that would prevent future occurrence of this kind of fatalities "
