Police
authorities in Maryland have announced that they have caught 2 men in an
alleged plan to use an aerial drone to deliver porn, contraband drugs and a gun
to a jail.
Police
responded to well-versed report of a suspicious automotive close to the Western
Correctional facility in Cumberland on Saturday and discovered the 2 men within
the vehicle were in possession of an aerial drone, a handgun, drugs and sexy
DVDs.
The
drug found within the vehicle was known as Suboxone, a narcotic drug usually utilized
by heroin addicts to wean themselves off the substance, and artificial
marijuana.
The
Maryland Department of Public Safety tweeted an image of the bounty confiscate
from the vehicle.
Officials
aforesaid it’s unlikely for the gun to get into the jail via the drone, because
the device was solely designed to hold 6-8 ounces of load.
"Contraband
fuels violence, and we are committed to keeping it out for the safety of our
staff and the inmates," Corrections Secretary Stephen T. Moyer told
reporters Monday.
The
car's occupants, Thaddeus Shortz, 25, Keith Brian Russell, 29, were arrested on
multiple charges. Investigators aforesaid they'd been underneath police
investigation for weeks on suspicion of plotting to use a drone to import contraband
into the jail.
