INEC confirms that Delta State Governor Recorded More Votes Than The Number Of Voters


The election petition Tribunal of Delta State , sitting in Asaba, has admitted four key documents, together with card readers’ accreditation report, tendered by officers of the Independence National Electoral Commission.

The accreditation report submitted by INEC showed that the quantity of  accredited voters for the April 11 Delta state governorship election was under the results proclaimed by electoral officers after the polls.

Two INEC officers – Assistant Director, ICT Department from Abuja headquarters and Chief planning Officer, Delta State were directed to offer testimony on the conduct of the April eleven election, following the request by the All Progressives Congress and its candidate, Emerhor Otega.


Apart from the accreditation  report, different documents tendered by the INEC officers at the commencement of hearing on Wednesday included, manual for election officers 2015; INEC’s April 2, 2015 press statement creating accreditation through use of card readers solely obligatory for the governorship elections; and rules and regulations for the conduct of 2015 general elections.
