Ayodele Fayose |
The Governor in his remark urged fellow politicians to abstain from “playing politics” with the deceased death.
Stating why the death of Mrs. Awolowo and her late husband shouldn't be politicised, Fayose mentioned he was making an attempt to say that the visits shouldn't be a natural event, wherever politicians would come around and celebrate, leave and ne'er come back.
“They only make politics out of this kind of life; that is not the spirit”. The spirit is to stay with this family and keep Baba’s (Awolowo) legacy within Ikenne and beyond Ikenne and in Nigeria. He wants us to be together, he wants us to do things right and he wants us as a Yoruba nation to remain united.”
