200 Boko Haram Members Surrender - Army

According to Sahara reporters, the Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, Maj. Gen. Yusha’u Abubakar, said after taking control of Banki, a Nigerian border town with Cameroon, over 200 members of the insurgency group willingly surrendered to the military on Thursday.

Maj. Gen. Abubakar, who spoke to journalists at about 11am on Friday, said, “I have just received information from our troops about an hour ago that over 200 Boko Haram insurgents surrendered to them.”
The commander disclosed that what would have been a great disaster in Maiduguri was averted on Wednesday night as the suspected bomber was caught at Medinatu mosque in the Low Cost area of Maiduguri, surveying the area with the motive of planting an improvised explosives device(IED)
He added that the suspected Boko Haram member had parted with information that may lead to the arrest of those who planted the Sunday’s multiple bombs in Maiduguri that killed many residents.
