Court Orders Release Of Col. Nicholas Ashinze, Former Aide To Dasuki

According to Vanguard,an Abuja High Court sitting at Jabi has ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and the Nigerian Army, to forthwith, release Col. Nicholas Ashinze, a former aide to the erstwhile National Security Adviser, NSA, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.), who has been in detention since December 23, 2015. ‎

In a judgment on Monday, Justice Yusuf Haliru, directed the respondents to immediately release the applicant on self-recognition, saying his detention for over three months without trial, was “‎illegal, wrongful, unlawful and constituted a blatant violation of the fundamental rights of the applicant”. The court also ordered immediate release of documents and items the anti-graft agency seized from the house of the applicant.

EFCC Finds $50,000 in Ex-Vice President's Office

Men of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC on Saturday 30^th January visited the office of former Vice President Namadi Sambo in Abuja, in search of documents but also found $50,000 cash.

It was reported by The Nation, EFCC may have ransacked his office over an alleged N20 million monthly subvention he received from the Office of the National Security Adviser while he was Vice President.

It was said that the search came about an unusual movement of hefty bags into the office of Sambo’s Manyatha Company on Saturday. EFCC sources say the relocation of the suspicious bags from the ex-vice president Sambo's home to the office made the agency act quickly.

The Present Administration Still Use The Equipment I Bought – Goodluck Jonathan

Former President Goodluck Jonathan in an interview with International news channel, France24 disclosed that the present government is still using the equipment his administration bought while he was president.

He Said: “The new government is working hard and I believe they are still using the equipment we procured. The budget is still being debated, no new equipment has been bought, so even those equipment the president is using to prosecute the war against Boko Haram are those equipment we procured and I believe that with what we left behind and the new ones they will acquire, this issue of Boko Haram will be taken to a logical conclusion.

Dasuki Granted Bail For N250 Million - Court

The embattled former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, former Minister of State for Finance, earlier today was granted bail by Justice Peter of the Federal High Court in Abuja alongside Bashir Yuguda, former director of finance at the office of the NSA, Shuaibu Salisu; a N250 million bail was levied on each over their involvement in a N9.6 billion fraud.

Justice Peter granted the accused persons bail in the sum of N250 million each with a surety in like sum. He ruled that the surety must be a civil servant, serving or retired and not less than the rank of a director. He demanded that the accused persons submit their passports with the court registrar and that they must notify the court before traveling outside Abuja.

Professional Journalist madam Kemi Olunloyo has since yesterday been dishing out what she termed the fact of how the transaction occurred. Linda who is known to have recently purchased a N600m worth of house in the famous banana island is said to have been given the property by a top Rivers state politician and some money to kill a story.

Kemi Olunloyo claims that the internet would break if she tells the story Linda was paid to cover.
