Nigerian Army Bursts A Bomb Making Factory In Dikwa, Borno State

The Nigerian army has continued on their galant strides as troops from Division 7 of the Nigerian Army in their military operations in Borno State have bursted Boko Haram terrorist local bomb-making factory in Dikwa town,the said town that was taken back last week.

It was discovered that the insurgents  had converted a neglected Chemistry laboratory of Dikwa College of Education into an Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) making factory.

Col. Sani Usman, Director of Army Public Relations (DAPR) in a statement yesterday highlighted that the military was able to get read of the terrorist from Dikwa and environs, and recovered 4 Toyota Hilux vehicles used in intimidating residents and some close communities along the border road of Dikwa in Maiduguri.

You may recall that on Sunday,the Yobe state police command  confirmed that the suicide bomber who killed 15 people in an explosion in Damaturu, Yobe State, was about 10 years old.

The spokesperson for the police, Toyin Gbadegeshin, who addressed journalists in Yobe, stated that the girl detonated the explosives at the gate of the market, killing herself and 15 others.

He said, “A female suicide bomber, aged about 10 years, detonated the explosive device at the crowded main entrance of the popular Sunday Market, killing 15 people, including 10 females and five males, while injuring 47 others.”

Development from the Nigerian Police website says that "Police Bomb experts that responded to the 26th July, 2015 Sunday Local Market suicide bomb attack in Damaturu during a sweep recovered five (5) undetonated Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) at the scene".

The items were safely removed from the location.

BOMB EXPLOSIONS ROCKED 2 MOTOR PARKS IN GOMBE STATE

Multiple bomb explosions rocked two motor parks in metropolis of Gombe state on Wednesday night, killing no fewer than 30 people, while about 150 other persons sustained injuries, the Nigeria Red Cross Society (NRCR) in Gombe state confirmed.

 Malam Abubakar Yakubu, Secretary of NRCS in the state, said that “the remains of the dead victims had been deposited at the mortuary of Federal Teaching Hospital (FTH) Gombe”.  Highlighted that those injured were receiving medical attention at the hospital and Specialists’ Hospital, Gombe state.

The Gombe State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Fwaje Atajiri, who confirmed the incident, said details on casualties were yet to be available. He said the first blast occurred at Dadinkowa motor part around 7.30 pm, followed by the second explosion at Dukku Park some hours later. The DSP stated the area of the incident had been cordoned off and movement in the metropolis, restricted throughout the remaining part of the night an eye witness, Malam Idris , said that the explosion at the Dadinkowa Park occurred very close to a mosque when people were coming out of the mosque after performing their prayers. In both cases, the Improvised Explosive Devices was used for the operation
