The Governor, at the first town
hall meeting in Ipaja, yesterday, mentioned that the audit was necessary to free additional funds for the
state to boost on infrastructural development in Lagos.
Addressing a large audience at
the Abesan mini-stadium ground, Abesan, Ipaja, Ambode stated that his
administration had a concept to run a lean government with quality service, as
a minimum of N3billion is currently saved monthly from his restructuring of
Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) within the state.
He also said that he had
commenced series of reforms within the last 3 months, with a comprehensive
impact to be felt within the state.
“We
are presently reviewing our loans with our bankers with a view to restructuring
them in order to free up funds for further infrastructural development,” he said.
Ambode explained that he had started out to implement long-run
plans and programmes to place Lagos within the path to turning into a real
city-state.
