An Air India flight heading for
the United Kingdom had to turn back once a rat was seen on board, passengers
say.
Flight AI 131 was heading to
London from urban center Mumbai on Wednesday when the rat was reported seen.
The plane turned back as it was
travelling over Iran upon the alert of staff.
The authority arraigned a replacement flight
for passengers, as the said plane was fumigated.
In a statement from Air India,
its engineers are examining reports of a rat being behind the mid-air emergency
manoeuvre.
However a spokesperson disclosed
that "the presence of the rat on-board wasn't confirmed".
It’s very unsafe to have Rats on-board as they have the capability to cause mechanical issues on flights by eating through wires.
