The
Lagos State Police Command on Monday said that its gunboat sunk by some gunmen
who invaded the Marine Police Post on Sunday morning in Epe had been replaced.
The
command’s spokesman, DSP Joseph Offor, made the disclosure in an interview with
the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on the latest on the attack.
Offor
said that the gunboat used in replacing the sunken one was drawn from another
division.
He
said the sunken gunboat had also been recovered from the Lagoon at Epe, adding
that it was currently undergoing repair.
The spokesman said that security had been beefed
up in all parts of the state, particularly on the waterways where suspected
gunmen usually use to terrorize residents and banks.Read more
