Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has
proclaimed $600m (£393m) in help for project development in the African continent
at a significant summit in Delhi.
More than fifty African leaders attended the
India-Africa Forum Summit, new in scale, in Delhi.
Although India's trade with the continent has
over doubled to $72bn since 2007, it's still relatively little.
The meeting is being seen as an effort by India
to enhance ties with Africa.
A record variety of African leaders, as well as
South Africa's Jacob Zuma, Zimbabwe's Henry Martyn Robert Mugabe, President
Sisi of Egypt, President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria and Sudan's Omar al-Bashir
attended the summit - a part of India's huge push to extend its presence in
continent.
