NIGERIANS REACT TO N9BILLION WARDROBE ALLOWANCE FOR LEGISLATORS


Hours when it had been divulged that the members of the eighth National Assembly (NASS) had allotted a whooping N9billion as wardrobe allowance for its 469 lawmakers, Nigerians Tuesday kicked against it.
While every of the 360 lawmakers at the House of Representatives would get N17.5 million, the remaining 109 senators would get N21.5 million every as wardrobe allowances.
Already, angry Nigerians particularly those on Facebook and Twitter have created a N9billion hashtag (#9billion), that has since gone infectious.
Another hashtag that has gone infectious is that the #OccupyNASS, that they aforesaid would entail Nigerians exacting responsibleness from their representatives at the National Assembly.
"An assortment of happy-go-lucky louts seeking to profit once those that supposedly electoral them are dying of hunger and pauperization.
"The worst a part of the legislative heist is that a number of these guys are within the NASS for years assembling millions with no single bill!"

I guess it’s really time to #occuyNASS.Change we want,change we must see.
