Governor Sule Lamido Leaves Nigeria Before Handover Date


According to Daily Post, Lamido flew out from Dutse International Airport in the presence of his supporters and well-wishers.
He addressed journalists after the executive council meeting; he thanked the state executive members, government employees and the good people of Jigawa State for the support given to his administration in the last eight years.

Governor Sule Lamido said that he is proceeding on annual leave, and however handed over the affairs of governance to the Secretary of the State Government (SSG) Lawan Abdu Babura, a week to inauguration of a new government.

Gov.  Lamido stated yesterday that his commissioners and other government functionaries would continue in their capacities till May 29, 2015.
“We have done our best in discharging our statutory responsibility to our mother state; together we achieved the success recorded in the last eight years,”

He appealed to the people of Jigawa state to support the incoming state government to enable it work effectively for the good of the state.
It would interest you to know that the administration of Gov Lamido is leaving a debt of over 11bbillion for the incoming state government.
