The recently ranked among the 100 richest people in the world by Time magazine for his role in helping eradicate Polio in Northern Nigeria.
Aliko Dangote, has been named "Africa Person of the Year" by Forbes magazine at a ceremony held in Nairobi,Kenya. Aliko Dangote who is also the richest man in Africa received the award and dedicated it to Nigeria.
With various businesses in different part of Nigeria and expanding(sugar, flour, cement)creating employment
opportunities for young Nigerians, this seem to be an honour well deserved. He therefore joins the league of Nigerians that has previously bagged this award which includes Akinwunmi Adesina, hon. Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development for Nigeria in 2013,Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi,Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria in 2011.
Aliko Dangote beat our very own Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie,Arunma Oteh(Director General of the Security and exchange commission in 2010),Thuli Madonsela,an advocate from South Africa and Donald Kaberuka an Economist from Rwanda and president of African Development Bank to win this award.
With the dedication of the award to Nigeria and His commitment to touching lives,I believe that the best is yet to come.Do you share the same view?
