According
to a Palace Chief who didn’t want to be named, the wives of the late Ooni of
Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade,cannot re- marry as it’s the tradition,
they will solely be transmitted by the new Ooni. This order was prescribed by
the Ife tradition since the Ooni isn't thought of as dead but one who has transited
to the next realm.
