There
were indications yesterday that there might be fuel scarcity in Lagos as
members of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG)
staged a protest, demanding the payment of their N224 million debt that was
incurred in the supply of diesel and kerosene to the state government.
That
was even as the state government said it would not succumb to attempts by
NUPENG to blackmail it into paying a questionable N224 million debt.
NUPENG
had, during the protest led by its South-West Chairman, Alhaji Tokunbo Korodo,
alleged that the state government was owing N224 million for the supply of
diesel and kerosene to the state for the execution of direct labour projects in
Ojodu area of the state between October 2014 and May 2015.
