APC PLANS TO REGAIN CONTROL OF THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY

All Progressives Congress (APC) has launched new moves to require management of the Senate president Bukola Saraki and therefore the speaker of House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara, Daily Times reports.
The recent move is aimed at making the ruling party to create up for the loss it suffered within the legislative arm against to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that saw APC aspirants losing within the National Assembly leadership elections despite having a majority of lawmakers.
A caucus of the party’s officers, led by the APC’s national chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun, when a gathering on June eleven, Thursday, resolved to regain the leadership of each legislative chambers.
The chieftains of the party need to confirm that Femi Gbajabiamila becomes the House leader. Yakubu Dogara, who was supported by the PDP trounced the APC’s most well-liked candidate for House speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila.
While it's not sure who among the APC senators the party can gift to run the Senate’s leadership position, indications are widespread that the leadership was already in grips with President Muhammadu Buhari on the matter.
Angriest within the APC over developments within the National Assembly is legislator Bola Tinubu, thought of two own been the most supporter of legislator Ahmed Lawan and Gbajabiamila, each of whom lost out their bids for election to leading positions within the general assembly.
Senator Bukola Saraki, who was supported by the opposition, became the Senate president, whereas the PDP member Ekweremadu emerged because the deputy Senate president.
