Unionism Creates Impending Crisis At Kwara Varsity

According to reports, Kwara State University (KWASU) Malete is cooking up as a local chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, (ASUU) was inaugurated without the prior knowledge of the school management.

The Guardian reports that the academic staff body of the school recently introduced the KWASU’s ASUU caretaker committee which will in the meantime carryout the necessary duties pending its formation into a full blown body in the school.

Dr Dauda Adeshola was nominated as the Chairman of the caretaker committee, with Dr Shehu AbdulGaniyu Salau, as his secretary.

Adeshola in a letter dated August 17, 2015 addressed the school Registrar shortly after his inauguration was quoted saying, ‘this is to officially inform the university management and the academic community that ASUU, KWASU chapter was officially inaugurated Thursday the 13th of August, 2015 where a caretaker committee was set up for the take-off.’
